AI API spend tracker
A plain spreadsheet for logging what you spend on AI APIs — one row per batch or per day, across every provider you use. It totals your spend, breaks it down by provider, and projects a 30-day figure from the days you have logged.
| Date | Provider | Model | In | Out | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2026-08-01 | OpenAI | gpt-4o | 120k | 45k | $0.75 |
| 2026-08-01 | Anthropic | claude-sonnet | 340k | 90k | $2.37 |
| 2026-08-02 | OpenAI | gpt-4o-mini | 1.25M | 210k | $0.31 |
| Total spend | $3.43 | ||||
Illustrative. You fill in your own per-million-token prices — see below.
What is in it
- A log table — date, provider, model, project, input and output tokens, and a cost column that calculates itself.
- A summary — total spend, days covered, average per day, and a projected 30-day figure.
- A per-provider breakdown — so you can see which one is actually responsible.
The two price columns are blank on purpose. Fill them from your provider’s current pricing page — model prices change, and a number baked into a file you downloaded months ago would be wrong without ever telling you.
When a spreadsheet stops being enough
A spreadsheet is honest work and for a single project it may be all you need. It has two limits worth knowing before you rely on it: you only find out you overspent when you next sit down to update it, and every figure in it is one you typed by hand.
TryTokka is the same job done automatically — it syncs usage from the providers you connect and alerts you when spend crosses a budget you set, rather than waiting for you to notice. If the sheet is working for you, keep using it.

Optional. The download above does not need it, and skipping this box costs you nothing.
